The iSONEWS RSS Feeds The iSONEWS now publishes several Rich Site Summary (RSS) feeds, to better convenience our readers. RSS is a simple XML-based format designed to ease the syndication and sharing of site content. What does this mean to you? That depends, but it enables several uses: Personal use: Plenty of desktop news aggregators support RSS feeds. These enable you to keep up on a site's headlines and content without having to constantly visit. You can keep an eye on releases and visit the page when you want to read an .NFO, a Firstlook, or check the forum for feedback on a specific issue. Several lists of desktop software are out there. Just a few to get you started: RSS Feed Reader / News Aggregators Directory RSS Readers Webmaster use: RSS feeds make it to easy to list our releases and reviews on your website. Most of the big portal packages (Geeklog, Slash, etc) natively support RSS feeds. In addition, there are packages available for most any language to parse RSS. Examples include: PHP: Magpie RSS Perl: XML::RSS package Available feeds: Several feeds are available. We ask that you use these feeds responsibly: decent refresh waits, don't use specific release feeds and the all release feed, etc. Please note there are subtle differences between the release feeds (specifically, the individual release feeds lack a "Update in Section:" preface).
